ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team has been selected to finish fifth in the Red River Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office announced.
 
The Generals received 60 points in the poll and tied with Red River Rival Louisiana Christian.
 
LSU Shreveport received all 10 first-place votes and 100 points after their undefeated season and NAIA championship title.
 
Texas A&M-Victoria was selected to finish second with 83 points. Texas A&M-Texarkana (70) was picked to finish third, while Our Lady of the Lake (64) came in fourth.
 
Southwest (N.M.) (45), Xavier (La.) (35), Jarvis Christian (17), and Texas College (16) round out the conference poll.
 
LSUA opens play on Thursday, January 22, at home against Wiley University.
