ALEXANDRIA, La.- The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team completed the four-game series sweep over the University of the Southwest (N.M.).

GAME ONE | LSUA 13, USW 0
The Generals (10-5) wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for five runs in the first inning against the Southwest Mustangs (2-6).

Haley Fontenot started the scoring with a single through the left side to bring home Sophia
Romero.
Kaetlyn Dunbar followed with a two-RBI single to right center, scoring
Julia Kwakernaak and Fontenot.
Kilee Moody added an RBI single up the middle, and
Caitlyn Riche capped the inning with an RBI single down the left field line to make it 5-0.

LSUA kept the pressure on in the second. Dunbar reached on a fielding error that advanced the loaded bases and scored Fontenot.
Lainee Bailey doubled to right center to drive in two more, and Riche picked up her second RBI for the day with a single through the left side.
Molly Sistrunk added an RBI double, and
Kamille Lightfoot tripled down the right field line to stretch the lead to 11-0.

In the third,
Kinsley Coleman grounded out to bring home Fontenot for her first career RBI. The Generals capped the inning on a fielding error by the Mustangs' shortstop, scoring Dunbar for a 13-0.

Rylee Guillot (3-0) earned the win after tossing three scoreless innings. She allowed just two hits, struck out three, and allowed two walks while throwing 47 pitches.

GAME TWO | SW 0, LSUA 8
The Generals kept the same energy in the second game of the day to close the four-game series, 8-0.

Scoring opened in the first with a single from Fontenot; she advanced to second on the throw after driving in Romero.
Jillian Howell singled to left field to bring Fontenot home, 2-0.

The Generals continued to push their lead in the second with a sacrifice fly from Romero, allowing
Alyssa Soileau to score.
Â
LSUA continued to score runs in the third. Howell recorded her second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to score Kwakernaak. Moody followed with a double to center field, plating
Livie Thibodeaux and extend the lead to 5-0.

The fourth inning sealed the victory for the Generals.
Shelby Vitrano nabbed home on a passed ball. Kwakernaak tripled down the right field line to score
Hayden Cary, and Thibodeaux produced an RBI on a ground out for an 8-0 lead.

Kirsten Martinez (1-0) earned the win after throwing four scoreless innings. She allowed three hits, walked one, and struck out three while facing 16 batters on 64 pitches.

Cate Nettles came on and shut the door in the final inning. She retired three of the four batters she faced, no hits, and struck out one to preserve the shutout.
