Baseball Takes Down SUNO, 13-3, Einkauf Hits First Career HR

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team started off the week with a 13-3 win against Southern University New Orleans.
 

 
The Generals (7-5) recorded 16 hits with multi-hit performances from Dalton Wilson, Landon Langley, Trevor Dooley, Fischer Einkauf, Cameren Parks, Evan Rohlfs-Schadel, and Lane Patin. Einfkauf recorded a team-high three runs batted in and his first collegiate home run.
 
LSUA's pitching staff allowed just seven hits and two earned runs. They recorded nine strikeouts, two from Colin Ardoin and Austin Lorenz each. Jacob Brignac (1-0) was credited with the win. tossed two innings of shutout ball.
 
In the top of the second inning, Dylan Jimenez singled to left field which allowed Christian Soto to score the first run of the game for the Knights.
 
The Generals got the advantage by scoring four runs in the bottom of the third. Lane Patin scored the first one on a triple from Langley before Langley scored on a balk. A few pitches later Dalton Wilson tripled to right center bringing in Fischer Einkauf. After a walk to Cameren Parks, a first and third delayed steal allowed Wilson to slip home for the Generals' fourth run.
 
The offense kept it going for the Generals with a Lane Kratzer sacrifice fly to left, scoring Wilson. Rohlfs-Schadel then singled to center field bringing in Parks.
 
In the top of the seventh, the Knights pushed across two runs.
 
Einkauf launched a three-run home run, the first of his career, in the eighth which brought in Cade LaBruyere and Dooley. Wilson scored on a wild pitch. Patin finished it off for the Generals with a single to the left center, scoring Parks and triggering the 10'run rule.
 
The Generals take on Brescia, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.), and Midland University across the weekend.
