ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team has been selected to finish first in the Red River Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office announced.
 
The Generals received nine first-place votes and collected 99 points in the poll. LSUA finished the 2025 campaign with a 26-2 record in RRAC play and made the RRAC Championship final.
 
Texas A&M-Texarkana was selected to finish second with 85 points, while Our Lady of the Lake University received one first-place vote and 84 points. Texas A&M-Victoria (69) points were selected fourth with A&M-San Antonio (58) coming in fifth.
 
Louisiana Christian (47), Xavier (La.) (38), Southwest (N.M.) (32), Jarvis Christian (25), and Texas College (18) round out the final five spots in the poll.
 
The Generals open the 2026 season on January 30 at the LCU Invitational with a pair of games against Embry-Riddle University (Fla.) and Nelson University (Texas).
