Box Score TOUGALOO, MS – The No. 13 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball team took down Tougaloo College, 78-74.
"Tough road win," LSUA Head Coach Dimario Jackson said. "We are grateful! However, we have to be better in a lot of areas. We have to execute better down the stretch on both ends. But again, really tough road win."
The Generals (2-1) were led by
EJ McQuillan with 34 points. He shot 59-for-14 from the floor, 70 percent from long range, and went 9-for-10 at the charity stripe. McQuillan also tied with Terrance Marco with a team-high five rebounds.
Jordan Decuir knocked down seven shots, including a pair from deep, and finished the night with 17 points.
LSUA shot 47.3 percent from the floor as a unit and knocked down 43.5 percent of their chances from beyond the arc. They recorded 25 rebounds and 16 steals.
Tougaloo (0-4) had five players finish in double digits scoring, led by Jagger Young with 16. The Bulldogs shot 36.2 percent from the floor and just 14.3 percent from long range.
The Generals led 43-32 at halftime. Tougaloo out scored LSUA 42-35 in the second half.
LSUA hosts their home opener on Saturday, November 15, against Loyola University New Orleans. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
