ALEXANDRIA, LA – Alexia Bermejo Jo and Sara Escribano Garcia-Miguel each scored twice as the Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team routed Louisiana Christian University, 6-0, in the Red River Rivalry.

Mark Hammond said. "This is a game we have been waiting on for four years. It has always been a competitive game for us and we've been really eager for this one since the start of the year. Credit to the girls, we knew if we came out and performed like we did in the first half we knew they wouldn't be able to nip at us and it proved to be true."
The Generals (10-7-0, 8-2-0 RRAC) scored four goals in the second half. They outshot the Wildcats (4-6-0, 3-6-0 RRAC) 17-3. The Purple and Gold put 13 of their shots on frame.
It took 32 minutes, but the Generals were finally able to break through after besieging LCU keeper Lucia Solanilla. She made four saves in the first 24 minutes of the contest.
Bermejo broke the 0-0 deadlock with a penalty for her 10
th goal of the season.
Six minutes later, Escribano beat a pair of defenders and fired a shot past the keeper.
Yanira Herraez was called into action in the 55
th minute, keeping a stop from Kristyna Sivakova out.
Escribano then notched her second of the game and 10
th of the season in the 59
th minute.
Eight minutes later,
Audrian Cruz headed a corner kick from
Nelly Dallmann over the line for a 4-0 lead.
Bermejo's second came in the 78
th minute as Dallmann recorded her second assist of the game.
Linnea Lundstroem finished the scoring in the 86
th minute with her seventh goal of the season, finishing off a pass from
Sarah Arceneaux.
The Generals are on the road next Saturday for their regular season finale at Xavier (La.). Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
