SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Ellen Meijer's fifth goal of the season gave the Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's soccer team the lead as they held off Texas A&M-San Antonio, 1-0.
The Generals (8-5-2, 7-2-2 RRAC) finished with 17 shots and held the Jaguars (5-9-1, 4-7-1 RRAC) to 10 shots. Twelve of LSUA's shots came in the first half. Meijer led the Generals with five shots.

Mark Hammond said. "Really happy for Ellen to get the winner today with an absolute screamer. We can be proud of another away clean sheet and a great roadtrip."
Victoria Weber made four saves on the way to her fifth clean sheet of the season.
It took just twelve minutes for the Generals to find the score sheet. Meijer's goal came after LSUA mounted pressure in the attacking third, registering two shots and four corners just prior to taking the lead.
Weber was called in action in the 18
th and 20
th minutes, keeping out a pair of chances from the Jaguars.
Alexia Bermejo Jo, Meijer, and
Fenja Leibner each had chances denied as the Generals searched for an insurance marker.
In the early moments of the second half,
Jessie Eijbersen's chance at goal was stymied by the keeper to keep the score at 1-0. The ensuing counterattack from the Jaguars generated a corner, resulting in a headed effort at goal which was swept off the line by the Generals' back line.
The LSUA back line recorded a second defensive save in the 64
th minute.
Searching for the equalizer, the Jaguars generated another chance on goal in the 75
th minute. Weber stymied the opportunity. She was called on again in the 80
th minute to preserve the clean sheet.
LSUA is on the road next week for the final two games of the regular season. They first travel to Xavier (La.) on Thursday, October 31, before closing the season on Saturday, November 2, at North American University.
