ALEXANDRIA, La. – The (RV) Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team equalized but could not pull ahead against (RV) Mid-America Christian University, 1-1.
The Generals (4-1-3) and Evangels (7-1-1) finished even in chances with nine shots each. The offensive opportunities in the first were limited, seeing just one shot on goal for each team.
Through 45 minutes, the score was 0-0.
MACU broke the deadlock first. Filliph Kamfjord finished a chaotic play with a headed goal. A pair of flicks from Ebenezer Boti and Gabriel Avellan found Kamfjord in the six for the 1-0 lead.
Just 75 seconds later,
Javier Hernandez equalized. A Generals' corner gave
Pablo Novoa Martin a headed chance at goal which was turned aside by Julian Huertas. Hernandez came sliding in for the rebound and buried it, tying the game at 1-1.
Chances were few and far between after the goals. In the 84
th minute, a red card put the Generals down to just 10 men. In the game's final six minutes, the Generals held the Evangels to just one shot, a chance which Kamfjord sent wide.
