Baseball Sweeps Texas College With 29-2 and 9-0 Victories

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team scored 38 runs over a pair of wins against Texas College in Red River Athletic Conference play, 29-2 and 9-0.
 

 
GAME ONE | LSUA 29, TC 2
The Generals (22-10, 11-4 RRAC) collected 23 hits and drew 12 walks on their to a 27-run margin.
 
LSUA set the tone for game two early on, erupting for five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Landon Langley opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly to right field, bringing in Cade LaBruyere. Shortly after, Fischer Einkauf drove a triple into left center field to score Dalton Wilson. Lane Kratzer added another sacrifice fly, allowing Einkauf to cross the plate. Zack Berry followed with a single to center, scoring Brett Batteford, and later advanced on an error that brought in the fifth run.
 
Texas College (2-15, 2-13 RRAC) scored two runs with a Gibrant Feliciano single in the second, their only runs of the game.
 
The Generals added two more runs in the third and one in the fourth before exploding in the fifth with 11 runs scored.
 
Another five runs were added for LSUA in the sixth, with Stephen Roozendal hitting a single to center field, bringing in Austin Morris. Shae Thibodeaux singled to left field, allowing Blake Moss and Roozendal to cross the plate, followed by a Zack Berry single to center field, bringing in Moss. Colin Ardoin finished it off for the Generals with a double to right center, allowing Berry and Thibodeaux to score.
 
Seth Leger (5-1) took the win on the mound, tossing five innings and striking out seven. Andrew Loera (0-2) got charged with the loss for the Steers. He allowed 10 runs, eight earned, on six hits with one walk.
 
Langley, Einkauf, and Kratzer each recorded three hits. Berry, McCoullough, and Thibodeaux recorded a pair each. Langley and Berry each drove in three, while eight diffeernt players registered two.
 
GAME TWO | LSUA 9, TC 0
Four Generals combined for a shuotout on the mound to complete the series sweep.
 
After a scoreless first inning, Brett Batteford hit a triple to bring in Fischer Einkauf, followed by a Cayden McCollough sacrifice fly, allowing Batteford to score
 
The Generals added two more runs in the third, and three runs in the fifth including a Cade LaBruyere two-run home run that brought in Lane Patin.
 
LSUA scored the final runs of the game in the eighth inning to cap off the 9-0 victory against Texas College.
 
Carter Fabre (5-2) earned the win on the mound, tossing five shutout inning. He recorded seven strikeouts, and allowed just two hits.
 
Will Lamb (0-3) took the loss in the mound for the Steers, after 4.0 innings pitched and allowing seven runs (four earned).
 
UP NEXT
The Generals travel to Hawkins, Texas for a three-game series against Jarvis Christian University in RRAC play.
