NEW ORLEANS, La. – The No. 10 Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's tennis team took down No. 8 Loyola University New Orleans (1-4), 4-3.
The Generals (3-1) lost the doubles point with only
Lucie Ivanova and
Isabella Stuurman recording a win in the second doubles spot. The pair defeated Presha Shanthamoorthi and Bianca Harris, 6-1.
In singles,
Nahia Echaide took down Micaela Ponce in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. Echaide is now 4-0 in singles on the season.
Stuurman captured a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Avery Frierson in No. 2 singles.
Joline Roesch notched a 6-2, 6-1 win in the third spot over Juliette Finch.
Ekaterina Orlova rounded out the Generals' singles performance with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 win over Avrora Volkova in No. 6 singles.
LSUA returns home on Sunday, February 22, to take on Division I Jackson State in an exhibition.
