ALEXANDRIA, LA – The (RV) Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team has been picked to finish third in the Red River Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced today.
"It is nice to be recognized as one of the top teams in conference by other coaches and this is a reflection of the hard work that our players have done from year to year," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "The standard has been set and it continue to reflect in the polls this year."
The Generals received 106 points in the poll, finishing behind Xavier (La.) with 115 points and two first-place votes. LSU Shreveport received seven first-place votes and 128 points.
Behind LSUA are Texas A&M-San Antonio (105), Louisiana Christian (67), Texas A&M-Texarkana (66), Southwest (N.M.) (61), and North American (60) in the top eight.
The Generals finished the 2024-25 season with an overall record of 23-9 and an 18-6 record in RRAC play. LSUA received an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament for just the second time in program history after making the RRAC Championship final.
