TYLER, TX- After an 18 day stretch of no games, the Generals hit the road for their first game of the 2024 year. Taking on the Steers of Texas College, the Generals moved to 3-2 in RRAC play after falling, 60-91.
From tip-off, the Generals struggled to find their rhythm as a three from Jason Perry was the only thing to fall within the first 6 minutes of play.
JD Allen tried to follow off Perry putting another three on the board for the Generals at the 12-minute mark, but it wasn't until the end of the first half where shots began to fall. Going into half time the Generals were down 22 points with a score of 25-47.
Once the hole was dug, the Generals were not able to climb out and the Steers defended their home court with a victory.
Jason Perry was one of the two Generals to see double digit figures as he went for 19 points, pouring in four three-pointers and went 7-12 from the field. The other consistent key for the Generals,
JD Allen, drained in 13 points of his own.
The Generals will be back on the road Saturday, January 6
th, heading to Hawkins, TX for a RRAC matchup against the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian College. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM.
