The Generals Fall Short in Championship Game

Sterlington, LA - The Generals Fall Short in Championship Game.

LSUA made a monumental effort all weekend to get to the championship game, but unfortunately the Generals ran out of steam after playing 6 games in just 5 days. The Generals can leave the tournament with their heads held high after giving baseball fans thrilling, and high level performances all year. With championship games, ring ceremonies, all conference awards, player of the week awards, and graduating students, there is no denying that LSUA's season has been a success.

In the championship game, UHV took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. The Jaguars extended their lead to 5 in the bottom of the 3rd, and the generals already looked in trouble. After the 4th inning, the Generals were down 7-0, and the Jaguars showed no signs of sowing down.

The Generals had to work extremely hard for their runs, but they managed to score twice in the top of the 5th. Julien Kliebert singled through the right side and Alex Guilbeau got home. Julien Kliebert then scored on a passed ball to make it 7-2. Unfortunately UHV managed to score 3 times in the bottom of the 5th, and they added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 7th to end the contest. Final score UHV 12-2 LSUA.

Coach Kody Gautreaux has taken his team to the championship game twice in only 2 years as the Generals head coach, and the best is still to come for Kody and his players.
