HOBBS, NM- The Generals coming off a big win against all time red river rivals, LSU-Shreveport were looking to use that momentum as they traveled to Hobbs, NM to take on the Mustangs. Previously this season the Generals were able to hold off the Mustangs at The Fort, winning 79-69.
Even with four Generals scoring double digits, including
Jakemin Abney with 16 and Jason Perry with 15, the Generals could not overcome the deficit they dug themselves into during the first half of play as the Mustangs led the Generals 40-33 going into halftime. The Mustangs were able to keep the lead as the Generals worked to try and close the gap and come out on top.
The Generals usually a decent shooting team for the 3-point range, only shot a 25% on the night going 6-24 from three, and overall shot 41.3% going 26-63 from the field. Generals, getting good looks offensively, but shots just not falling.
The Generals will be back at The Fort to take on the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
